Where is the evidence that "the people" want electoral reform?

I have heard many people claiming that the electorate want electoral reform.

Where is the evidence?

69% of people voted for parties that have been traditionally hostile to changing the voting system.

If there were a referendum, it would be lost.

So where is the evidence that the UK wants PR?

All the main parties except the Conservatives are committed to action on electoral reform, an opinion poll last year showed 52% support for electorial reform (43% against) with majorities in all except by a narrow margin, Conservative party supporters.

Got a link for that poll, and indeed has it been adjusted to reflect the electorate?

I suspect that after this weekend a vote on PR would be lost.
