Was Satan behind the anti Brown briefings?

Today's Independent carries this story which lays the blame for the Observer article yesterday (See my article here) firmly at the door of Peter Mandelson.

As I said yesterday Peter Mandelson is not supposed to get involved in party politics. His oath of office as an EU commissioner precludes that.

What is interesting is that the only person more poisonous and divisive than Gordon Brown in the Labour camp is Peter Mandelson. If there is going to be a fight between the two Labour will be the loser. After all Peter Mandelson must know where the bodies are buried. he could sling a lot of mud Gordon Brown's way.

So why is this going on? Mandelson used to be on Brown's side then switched to Tony Blair. Where does this enmity come from?

Hat tip to Mike Smithson of Politicalbetting.com for the Independent story.

They should be allowed into a closed and sound-proofed room to strangle each other.

You must be joking James.

Just think of how much money the television rights could raise! :)

Sacked, disgraced and consigned to the EU scrap heap of failed politicians and still the little perisher returns to haunt these shores. Seems a wooden stake is the only course of action left.

Tom, I'm not even sure that would work!

Maybe a combination of sunlight, a stake, garlic, a silver bullet and a tanker full of holy water :)

It is interesting that Mandy can say a few words and create mayhem. He might be discredited, semi forgotten as on the EU gravy train, but there are enough out there who remember him being the architect of New Labour, and however much disliked he may be now, it does carry some street cred......
Methinks if New Lab choose Milliband they are stuffed, and if they choose Brown they are stuffed. I think Mike Smithson on PB has it bang on.
Deep joy as the left and the right of the "Labour Party" destroy each other. Whichever way if falls. DC will be grinning .
